Day-by-Day Plan
Day 1: Mörön → Khuvsgul Lake (Khatgal)
Collect your Taiga.Rent vehicle at Mörön Airport and drive north to the legendary Khuvsgul Lake. Explore the lakeshore, kayak or swim, and camp near Khatgal or a lakeside ger camp.
Day 2: Khuvsgul Lake → Khoridol Saridag Mountains
Follow rough mountain tracks west into Khoridol Saridag National Park. Expect river crossings, pine forests, and wide alpine meadows with breathtaking views. Wild camp near a mountain stream or stay in a simple ger camp.
Day 3: Khoridol Saridag → Ulaan-Uul
Climb across mountain passes and descend into the Darkhad Basin. Ulaan-Uul is a small, remote village surrounded by pristine lakes and rivers — a perfect base to resupply and refuel.
Day 4: Ulaan-Uul → Renchinlkhümbe
Drive deeper into the Darkhad Basin, one of Mongolia’s wildest regions. The track follows valleys and marshlands rich in wildlife. Overnight near Renchinlkhümbe, where the road to the Taiga begins.
Day 5: Renchinlkhümbe → East Taiga (Tsaatan Region)
Enter the East Taiga with a local guide or ranger. Visit the Tsaatan reindeer herders and learn about their unique forest lifestyle and deep shamanic traditions. Overnight in or near a Tsaatan camp — an unforgettable cultural experience.
Day 6: East Taiga → Darkhad Valley Lakes

Day 7: Darkhad Valley → Ulaan-Uul

Day 8: Ulaan-Uul → Mörön
